Meet Your Editor
I’m Reena Duke, the founder of All Seeing Edits, and I have been an avid reader for as long as I can remember. Drawn to the intimacy of the written word and the worlds it can hold, I soon developed a love of writing as well. Throughout my school years, I wrote creatively, entered competitions, and received awards for my work. My academic path eventually carried me elsewhere, into the sciences and a career in research, but my interest in language and storytelling persisted.
Writing remained a quiet thread throughout those years. The work I found most rewarding involved preparing manuscripts and helping students refine their own writing. I came to appreciate the careful work between an early draft and its finished form: finding where an idea has become obscured, where a passage needs room to develop, or where a few considered changes can bring the writer’s intention more clearly to the page.
All Seeing Edits grew from a return to my earlier interests in creative writing, coupled with the analytical habits I developed through years in academia. Now, I work with fiction and nonfiction authors to refine their manuscripts while preserving their unique voice. Editing, to me, is an act of close reading: understanding what a piece is trying to become, seeing both its smallest details and its larger design, and helping the author bring their vision to life.
